Woodcarving | Minnesota Winter Birds (Ages 13 - Adult)
Woodcarving: Minnesota Winter Birds
Ages 13 - Adult (ages 12 and under allowed with registered adult)
Learn to carve a Minnesota winter bird! This two-day course is an introduction to woodcarving in the Scandinavian tradition. The class is ideal for beginners, but experienced carvers are welcome too. You will learn a little about each bird and choose one or two to carve. All materials are provided for you to keep, including a carving knife, carving glove, two basswood blanks, paint tray, and paint brushes. You will practice several knife grips to safely and effectively shape the wood. Then learn how to apply paint and an oil finish as the final touch. Youth ages 12 and under can participate with a registered adult. Instructor: Matt Bruch
