    Westonka Big Man OL/DL Camp Entering Grades 7-12 Varsity Head Coach Nick David, Varsity Offensive Line Coach Brandon Brakstad and guest coaches The Westonka Big Man OL/DL camp is a three-day football camp for Grades 7-12 that is dedicated exclusively to the most important part of any football team, the offensive and defensive lineman . . . .The big men in the trenches! This camp strives to provide intensive instruction for football players wishing to improve their overall skill level. We will focus on the fundamentals of the game of football with high repetition drill work and teaching from highly qualified coaches. Camp sessions will focus on footwork, technique, speed and overall football knowledge through extensive practices that will include but are not limited to one-on-one instruction, fundamental stations, position drills and compeition. Particiants will be grouped according to age and/or ability level. All participants will receive a lineman themed camp t-shirt. Equipment needed: helmet, shoulder pads, mouth guard, practice jersey, football pants and cleats **All football equipment is provided for Grades 7-12 players.     Westonka Football Passing Academy | Specialist Positions only Entering Grades 5 - 12 Varsity Coaches Mike Wallace, Greg Sullivan & guest coaches The Westonka football passing academy is a non-contact three-day football camp for Grades 5-12 dedicated exclusively to the specialist position - QB, RB, WR and TE. The academy will help player fully realize their potential on and off the football field. Whether you're a QB, RB, WR or TE the Westonka football passing academy will help you grasp the fundamentals of your position and basic offensive a d defensive strategies to improve, learn and grow as student-athletes and football players. The academy will focus on the following components: Quarterbacks: 3 & 5 step drops (shotgun/under center), progression and hot throws, footwork, throwing drills Running backs/Wide Receivers/Tight Ends: stances, & starts, ball catching technique and drills, route running, releases Participants will be grouped by age, position, ability and experience to allow coaches to progressively teach basic and advanced techniques to best benefit each group.     Westonka Football Team Camp Entering Grades 9-12 Westonka High School varsity football coaching staff This full-padded football camp will focus on specific position play as well as offensive and defensive schemes taught within the Westonka Football program. Players will learn offensive and defensive position as well as the fundamentals used on special teams play. Players will learn the base plays of the Westonka offense, base fronts and coverages on defense. Participants will be grouped according to age and/or ability level. All participants will receive a pair of camp shorts and a camp t-shirt.   • Westonka Youth Football | Flag Football League (Grades 3 & 4)

    Westonka Youth Football | Flag Football League Grades 3 & 4 The Westonka Youth Football program provides a great opportunity for kids to participate in organized skills development, flag football, and tackle football. In Grades 3 & 4, the Westonka Youth Football program forms flag football teams and participates in an In-House League. Grades 3 & 4 Flag Football Practices will begin on Tuesday, August 25 at 6:00 pm. Parents should plan to attend the first practice to meet with coaches and teammates. Practices will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and games will be held on Saturday mornings. All practices and games will take place at LOCATION TO BE DETERMINED. Flag Football participants will receive a Westonka Football league/team t-shirt that they are able to keep at the conclusion of the season. The season will conclude on Saturday, October 10. A complete season schedule will be sent out prior to the start of the season. Flag Football League participants will receive a Westonka Youth Football league/team t-shirt that they are able to keep at the end of the season.   • Westonka Youth Football | Tackle Football (Grades 5 & 6)

    The Westonka Youth Football program provides a great opportunity for kids to participate in organized skills development, flag football, and tackle football. In Grades 5 & 6, the Westonka Youth Football program forms tackle football teams and competes against other area programs/schools, including Dassel-Cokato, Delano, Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, Maple Lake, Rockford, and Watertown-Mayer in the Wright, Carver, and Hennepin Area (WCHA) Tackle Football League. Grades 5 & 6 Tackle Football Player Evaluations will take place on Monday, August 17 and Tuesday, August 18 beginning at 6:00 pm. Practices will be held on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings beginning on Thursday, August 20. Once the school year begins (after Labor Day), practices will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. All practices will take place at LOCATION TO BE DETERMINED. Games will begin after Labor Day and will only take place on Saturdays. Games run approximately 90 minutes. The season will conclude on Saturday, October 10. A complete season schedule will be sent out prior to the start of the season. Grades 5 & 6 TACKLE FOOTBALL EQUIPMENT NEEDED Items that must be purchased by the parents include; white football pants with pads, white helmet with a hard chin strap, cleats (no metal cleats allowed), shoulder pads, mouth guards, a red or white practice jersey, and a protective cup (optional). Game Jerseys are provided and will be handed out at practice before games begin. All Game Jerseys will be returned back to Westonka Youth Football at the conclusion of the football season.
