Grades K - 4
All new lessons for the new school year. Calling new and returning students - The Engineering for Kids Jr Engineering/STEM Club brings fun, hands-on lessons every week to introduce engineering concepts at a young age. For each lesson, students focus on developing 21st Century skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, and teamwork. These life skills give students the confidence to approach challenges in their lives and realize that they can succeed in anything!

Week 1 - Aerospace Engineering | Stunt Plane | Students learn about the science of flight and design their own glider. |
Week 2 - Acoustic Engineering | String Telephone | Students explore how sound travels by creating and testing their own string telephone. |
Week 3 - Mechanical Engineering | Pyramid Slingshot | Students explore potential and kinetic energy as they design and build a simple pyramid-style slingshot. |
Week 4 - Coding Unplugged | Binary Bracelets | Students learn how information is represented so that a computer can interpret and store it, then create a simple binary bracelet. |

Week 1 - Environmental Engineering | Bug in a Web | Students learn how spiders use their webs to catch bugs in nature, then build a simple bug-in-a-web model inspired by how real webs work. |
Week 2 - Electrical Engineering | Magnet Maze | Students learn about magnets, their properties, and how they're used in navigation tools like compasses, then create their own magnet-guided maze. |
Week 3 - Chemical Engineering | Witch's Brew | Students experiment with different materials to create a bubbling, chemical-reaction powered witch's brew. |
Week 4 - Mechanical Engineering | Propeller Car | Students get a hands-on lesson in air powered thrust and inertia as they design and test a propeller car. |
