    Broadway Bootcamp: Dance for the Stage Entering Grades 5 - 12 Instructors, Jamie Harms, Middle & High School Director/Choreographer assisted by Cerisa Bray, Middle School Theatre Assistant Student Choreographer Explore the exciting world of musical theatre through dance! This class introduces students to fundamental dance styles and techniques that bring Broadway to life. Perfect for beginners or those looking to refine their skills, participants will learn choreography inspired by classic and contemporary musical while building confidence, coordination and stage presence. This year's program features all new material and choreography, so even return students will have a fresh and exciting experience! Students should bring a water bottle to each session. Dance shoes: Jazz shoes (recommended): Black or tan slip on jazz shoes for comfort and ease of movement Character shoes: optional for advanced students, especially high schoolers Sneakers: clean, non-marking sneakers are acceptable if students don't own jazz shoes, especially for beginner Clothing: Tops: fitted t-shirts, tank tops or leotards (no loose or baggy shirts to ensure proper movement evaluation Hair: pulled back and secured away from the face (bun or ponytail) Accessories: No dangling jewelry for safety reasons Bottoms: Jazz pants, leggings or dance shorts with tights (no jeans or skirts as they restrict movement and unsafe for turns and leaps Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, August 17, 18 & 20 and 24, 25 & 27 9:00 - 11:00 am Westonka Activity Center | Fitness Room #2034-26S $125

    Ms Heidi's Theatre Playtime Grades 1 - 5 Instructor, Heid Richardson-Duggan Students entering Grades 1-5 - get ready for four days of imagination, laughter and nonstop theater fun! This camp is all about playing our way into the world of theatre. We'll jump into silly theatre games, invent our own stories, transform into characters, and perform for one another. Every day brings something new to explore - using our voices, bodies, BIG ideas, and yes, we might even get a little messy. Come ready to imagine, create and shine on stage.     Summer Drama Camp Grades 5 - 8 Instructor, Mary Todd Kaercher Want to jump into the exciting world of theater? Learn the ins and outs of being backstage, onstage and how to create a character with Mary Todd Kaercher, WMS Musical Director, and a stellar group of guest teachers. Camp will be broken down into small groups for greater focus on developing our actors. Students will focus on improvisational acting techniques that work on presence, developing a character and teamwork. What they learn at camp can readily transfer to making great auditions.
